Our Story

Our new classical charter school, Optima Classical Academy at Estero (OCAE), opens in Fall 2023 for Kindergarten to 8th Grade. OCAE is a licensed user of the Hillsdale College K-12 curriculum provided through the Barney Charter School Initiative and is part of the Optima family of schools. It is the 5th brick & mortar classical school started and managed by Optima in Florida.

Applications for the student selection lottery are now being received on our website and Parent Information Meetings will soon be announced. This is the perfect place for parents seeking a more challenging, inspirational school experience for their child. The school plans to add grades each year to reach grade 12.

The campus, located at 17660 Corkscrew Rd, will include a state-of-the-art school facility, sports field, a future gymnasium, and much more. OCAE is a TUITION-FREE public charter school. The school’s classical education model will offer students a sound curriculum based on the traditions of the liberal arts and sciences, with instruction in the principles of moral character and civic virtue.
